Why We Built Baseline
The Problem
If you have an aging parent, you know the feeling: a constant, low-grade worry humming in the background of your life. Are they eating? Did they take their medication? Are they lonely? Today's options force an impossible choice — install cameras and trackers that strip away your parent's dignity, or do nothing and hope that everything is fine until the next phone call.
The Insight
Trust precedes insight. Connection precedes detection. We realized that if you build something the senior genuinely wants to use — a warm companion they look forward to talking to, not a monitoring device they tolerate — engagement naturally generates the signals families need. You don't need cameras when Mom is happily chatting about her garden every morning.
