Get Started with Baseline
Getting your family set up on Baseline takes just a few minutes. Here's what to expect — whether you're setting up a care circle for your parent, or you're the loved one joining.
Setting Up Your Family's Care Circle
For the adult child, sibling, or anyone organizing care.
-
1
Download Baseline
Available on iOS via TestFlight during beta.
-
2
Sign in with Google
Tap "Get Started" and sign in with your Google account. That's the only account you need.
-
3
Tell us about your loved one
Enter your parent's name and your relationship (Mom, Dad, Grandmother, etc.). Baseline will use "Mom" throughout, not generic labels.
-
4
Invite your loved one
You'll get a simple join code like WARM-42 to share with your parent. Send it via text, write it on a sticky note — whatever works.
-
5
Invite other family members
Get a second join code to share with siblings, partners, or anyone who wants to be part of the care circle. No limit during beta.
-
6
Start contributing
Add knowledge to teach Baseline about your parent's world:
- account_balance How does Mom check her bank balance?
- medication What are her medications?
- medical_services Who is her doctor and when is her next appointment?
- cake What are the important family birthdays?
- chat What are Mom's favorite topics to chat about?
-
7
Share a memory
Queue a photo, story, or voice note. Baseline will deliver it during the next Daily Brief.
Joining as a Loved One
We recommend sitting together for setup. It's a chance to introduce your loved one to Baseline and share their first conversation.
-
1
Get the app
Your family member will help you download Baseline onto your iPhone.
-
2
Enter your join code
Your family member will give you a short code (it looks like WARM-42). Open the app, tap "I have a join code," and type it in.
-
3
Sign in
Tap "Continue with Google" to sign in. Your family member can help with this step if needed.
-
4
Have your first conversation
Tap the microphone button to talk, or type — whatever feels natural. Ask about the weather, when your next appointment is, or just tell Baseline about your day.
-
5
Stay for the first conversation
Stick around for a few minutes while your loved one chats with Baseline. It's reassuring for both of you, and you'll see how it works.
You don't need to learn an app. Tap the microphone and talk, or type if you prefer. Baseline meets you where you are.
What to Expect in the First Week
Baseline gets more personal every day. Here's a quick look at how the first week unfolds.
Day 1
Explore the app. Circle members: add a few knowledge entries and queue a memory. Loved one: have a conversation with Baseline.
First Morning
First Daily Brief — a morning greeting with weather, family dates, and a delivered memory.
Over the Week
As circle members add more knowledge, Baseline's answers get more personal. You'll start noticing how your family stays connected — without the pressure of constant check-in calls.
Tip
Don't try to add everything at once. A few entries per day is perfect. Baseline grows with your family over time.
